Publishing Task 3: Final Website Migrated, Plugins and Code Snippet Choices

Image
For my blog post this week I have been asked to talk about the migration of my CA2 website. I migrated my website from my Wordpress Localhost to InfinityFree. To do this I had to create a new domain instead of using the same domain I used for my previous assignment. I had to use a plugin called All-In-One WP Migration and then export all of my plugins on my Wordpress and then import my Wordpress file back onto Wordpress and then add it to my new domain that I created. I chose InfinityFree as I already had experience using it so I thought that would make it easier however it is a difficult process as it takes a long time and sometimes they may charge you for migration. The theme I used for my site is Twenty Twenty-One. I used this theme because I felt like it was the most easy theme to navigate and wasn’t overly complicated and I had used it for my previous assignment and everything worked for me so I was confident that it would work for me this time and it also had an attractive layo

In this blog post I will be talking about the website I will making for my second continuous assessment. I will be talking about UX principles, the kind of website I will be building, why I will be building it and the themes and plugins I will be using. What Will I Build The website I am building is for a fictional vinyl record shop called vinyl world. I am hoping for the website to look like a basic music shop website, for example Golden Discs and Discogs however it will only be vinyl record sales, preferably one of those websites where a customer can sell their own vinyl’s for example the website pictured below. https://miro.medium.com/max/1400/1*d692o2xU3bmxbamMD_4dag.webp I will make sure to include images of the vinyl being sold as well as information such as the pricing of the vinyl, the name of the vinyl, the artist beh

User Experience (UX) Explained For Best Practice Website Creation

Image
User experience is the focus of having a deep understanding of its users, what is needed by users, what a user values, user abilities and limitations. User experience also takes a groups business goals and objectives into consideration when they are managing a project. UX is best known for promoting the standards of users interference with and product perceptions and any similar services. UX has multiple factors to make sure that users find value in what is being provided for them. In order for users to have a relevant and valuable user experience it is important that user experience is useful and must be original. The site must also be easy to use. It must be desirable and include images, an identity, a brand as well as other design elements which are used to bring forth emotion and appreciation. A website must be findable. It is important that the website can be navigated and located onsite and offsite. The website must be accessible particularly for people with disabilities and cr

( http://rosalindgardner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/launch.jpg ) This week after a long semester of hard work, research and writing we finally finished up on our book chapters. We are now ready to launch our book which is a very good feeling. I have to say this wasn't an easy task to do however I learned lots of new things in the process. The topic I chose was the history of game consoles. I researched different articles every week relating to this topic and learned some very interesting things. I learned that the first ever game console was The Brown Box invented in 1967 by Ralph H. Baer. I also learned that Nintendo was founded by Fusajiro Fukada and that they used to be a card company. I had a lot of difficulty understanding these tasks. At first I was told that my chapter was too long so I had to cut it down which was very difficult as I was worried that I would end up cutting it too short but thankfully the last feedback I got told me that my chapter had improved and that a

Image of my chapter This week we finished off our book happy days. We had to make any final edits to our. chapter. I had to add my introduction and I also had to shorten my chapter. I looked through my chapter and took out any information that I felt was unnecessary just to make it shorter because at the beginning I thought it would have to be incredibly long but thankfully it didn't and I preferred that I had too much instead of too little because it's easier to cut things out as opposed to adding things. This turned out to be easier than I thought I was properly panicked at the beginning of the semester when we were told we had to write a book but it got easier as time went on. Next I will have to agree for my chapter to be in the book and I will also have to add the interactive game I made for my book to my chapter. I look forward to seeing the finished result of our book at the end of the semester.

Image of myself For this weeks reading task I had to create an author bio and talk about my chapter idea as well as my thoughts on how I'm doing with my chapter.  Author Bio My name is Eoin Harrington. I am a 22 year old creative digital media student in ITB. I am in 2nd year. I am hoping to get into filmmaking when I am finished college. I enjoy drawing, watching films and TV shows and listening to music. My favourite film is Pulp Fiction. I take lots of inspiration from Quentin Tarantino. My favourite TV show is The Sopranos and I like all sorts of music however my favourite genre would be pop punk as well as rap. Some of my favourite artists would include Green Day, Blink-182, Sum 41, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and Eminem. I'm not much of a gamer but I do enjoy it. My favourite video games would be Grand Theft Auto and God Of War. Chapter Topic My chapter topic is the history of consoles. I chose this topic because I don't a lot about gaming so I decided to pi

Image of my check your understanding For this weeks reading tasks we had to once again review two other students work. These were the same two students who's work we reviewed two weeks ago. We also had to make changes based on our reviews. Last week I was told by my lecturer that my chapter was too long and that I had to cut it down. I'm still currently working on that however I have made some progress. The person who reviewed my work said that it was a really interesting topic and that I have done lots of research and he liked how I talked about each individual console however he said I could maybe add a little introduction which I will get around to. Despite these small criticisms I think I'm doing ok enough. Another thing we had to do this week was create an interactive game relating to your chapter topic using a website called H5P. I had never heard of H5P before and at first I found it quite confusing but I actually enjoyed doing it once I got the hang of it. I made
