My Favourite Game: Grand Theft Auto Franchise
GRAND THEFT AUTO
My favourite video game franchise is the Grand Theft Auto franchise or as it's otherwise known GTA. Grand Theft Auto is an open-world action-adventure video game franchise where you play as gang members who mainly specialise in car theft hence the title Grand Theft Auto. The first Grand Theft Auto was released in 1997 and its most recent title Grand Theft Auto V was released in 2013. Grand Theft Auto V is currently the best-selling video game of all time. The franchise consists of seven main games and four expansion packs. I like the whole concept of these games. I like that you have the choice between playing missions and completing story mode as well as a really enjoyable free play. One of my favourite things to do during free play is police chases. My favourite game in the franchise is Grand Theft Auto V. My favourite character is Trevor Philips. I like Trevor because he's very funny.
The image above is of the Grand Theft Auto logo title on an IPad screen. I felt like this would be a way more interesting image to use rather than just a simple picture of the title itself because it is a far more creative way of displaying the title.
The above image is of a thief picking at the lock of a car door obviously attempting to steal the car. I chose this image because the whole concept of Grand Theft Auto is stealing cars and the title is Grand Theft Auto which is the American legal term for car theft.
The above photo is of a mural of Grand Theft Auto IV on a building on a main street in New York. There are also lots of cars in the photo and cars are the central theme of Grand Theft Auto and the fictional city Liberty City that Grand Theft Auto IV and other Grand Theft Auto games are set in is based on New York. I think this mural is a very clever way to advertise the game as it is big and clear and New York is a very busy area so lots of drivers and pedestrians will see it as they are walking by and the photo itself is very attractive as well because it is based in a nice location and it also has a nice bright blue sky which adds to the photo.
The above photo is of a speeding car. I chose this photo because cars are a central theme in Grand Theft Auto and this car in particular is the type of car that most people would look out for when they are playing Grand Theft Auto because it is a very nice and very fast car. I also like the camerawork on this photo as you can tell simply by looking at this photo how fast the car is going.
This is a picture of the loading screen for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Next to Grand Theft Auto V, San Andreas is the best Grand Theft Auto game. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the best-selling PlayStation 2 game of all time and is considered by many as the greatest video game of all time. While the gameplay is still great the graphics however are really bad compared to Grand Theft Auto V. I chose this photo because it is very nostalgic as San Andreas is an old PlayStation 2 game and the PlayStation 2 is the console I had growing up and I like seeing the loading screen on the IPad instead of a TV screen because I like the idea of being able to play this old PlayStation 2 game on an IPad.

ReplyDeleteHey Eoin this post was a great post to read as lets be honest you cant go wrong with the Gta franchise I assume you must be excited about the announcement of the Gta trilogy being remastered because I know I am its gonna be great. Gta 5 has broken so many records and is such an amazing game overall but I think at this point we are all awaiting the announcement for Gta 6 to happen which will break the internet in my opinion. ReplyDeleteHey Eoin, Love the post on GTA. Have to agree on GTA being one of my personal favourites too. Old GTAs especially the likes of San Andreas and Vice city were definitely the best ones. Open world and just getting to do what you want is for sure one of the best ways to make a game. Hopefully Rockstar sorts themselves out and gets GTA6 made asap.

ReplyDeleteI love the Grand Theft Auto Franchise. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to play most of the games as I was too young at the time to know what the games were. However, Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of my absolute favorite games. Between the stories, the dialogue, the character development, the graphics and many more. I was in awe of the game. Because I was only a younger sister at the time, I used to play it using my brothers old XBox 360. I loved initiating the police chases. It was epic and a perfect way to cope with whatever stresses I was having. I love the look of GTA Liberty City. Trevor is also one of my favorites, I cannot choose between him or Franklin.
